Retirement Program Advantages
You don't have to be of retirement age to take advantage of the retirement incentives and lower cost of living in Belize. The Qualified Retired Persons (QRP) program set up by the Belizean Government provides incentives to foreigners retiring to the country. You must be age 45 or older, have a monthly income of at least $2,000, and comply with several other minor requirements. You are only required to live in Belize for one month of the year. Qualified retirees are eligible for benefits including specific tax exemptions.
